Highlights

Lantau South Obelisk - It is situated on a hill next to the campsite. A similar feature is also found in Tai O, which was erected by British Navy in 1902 to mark sea border between British New Territories and China. Fan Lau Fort - It stands at the southern slope above Fan Lau Tung Wan, which overlooks the mouth of Pearl River. The fort was purposely built to safeguard the sea routes from Pearl River mouth to Guangzhou, protecting ships from piracy. It was declared as historical monument in 1981.

How to Get There

Take Bus 11 (to Tai O) or Bus 23 (to Ngong Ping) from Tung Chung Town Centre or Bus 1 (to Tai O) or Bus 2 (to Ngong Ping) from Mui Wo. Alight at Sha Tsui Bus Stop. Then, enter Lantau Trail Stage 8 through Wang Pui Road towards Kau Ling Chung direction, and it would take about an hour to arrive at entrance of the site.
